While mainstream society is focused on finding LOVE externally, the only true place to find LOVE is inside of YOU! Sometimes, however, if we have a great amount of negativity surrounding us, it may be difficult to dig deep and find even an ounce of positivity for love. The answer to this problem, is nature.
Many scientists have explored this and have found great evidence to show that time spent in nature is not only good for your mental health, but also for your physical development. David Suzuki conducted a 30x30 challenge, challenging Canadians across the country to spend 30 minutes a day outside, for 30 days. You can read the article here to see the findings were quite successful! Even people who do not have a lot of time, or are surrounded by the city limits can benefit from getting outside the constraints of a building with only 30 minutes to spare. Being outside, breathing the fresh air and hearing the sounds of nature not only adds happiness and energy to the body but also removes stress and anxiety. So if only 30 minutes a day can make a change, imagine how much positivity, happiness and love you could find within yourself by spending even just a little more than that?
I can tell you from experience that you can find A LOT. Since we moved from the bustling city of Calgary, to the beautiful mountainside in British Columbia there have been significant changes in both my husband and I, and even our 2 cats! I, am able to see everything more clearly, myself included. My husband, who has struggled with anger and negativity for a lot of his life, is now able to step outside, take a deep breath and move to a more positive mind space. And our cats, well they went from hiding all day in the smallest corners of the apartment they could find, to being on top of the couch, by the window, meowing all day (with me talking back;), running and playing with each other, and rubbing against us for constant love and affection.
So if you want to start making changes to your life, I would suggest you take a step outside, breathe in the nature around you, and find the LOVE inside of yourself; that self love will be the catalyst for all your changes.
